Crosstown Challenge

The Crosstown Challenge is a friendly, fun team competition where we divide players geographically into two teams. In the past, it's been North vs South. This year we're changing things up - it's City vs Country!   We'll divide up players based on their current city/town of residence with the goal of forming two same-sized teams. The City of Chicago and the nearest Cook County townships will be on the City Team and everyone else on the Country Team.  (Note: Some Cook County townships may be on the Country team, depending on numbers.)  City Team members will wear black and/or grey shirts; Country Team members will wear green and/or blue shirts.

Ruffled Feathers Golf Club is conveniently located just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago!  Anchored by its exquisite Pete Dye-designed championship layout, Ruffled Feathers' breathtaking natural setting has earned it recognition among the state's premiere daily fee golf properties.

As we are changing things up this year, we will also be playing 2-person best ball instead of individual stroke play.  Players may request their playing partner at registration or let us pair you up.  (Teams with one City & one Country player will get assigned to a team based on numbers.)  Each player still plays their own ball, but the lower net score on each hole will count toward the team score.  (Don't worry - just keep track of each player's individual gross scores and we'll figure the rest out after the round.)  We'll take each pair's net better ball scores, and the team with the lowest average net score will be proclaimed our winner.

There will be plenty of on-course contests to keep things interesting, and prizes will be awarded to the pair with the lowest net better ball score.  After golf, enjoy appetizers & drinks (cash bar) and mingle in the Terrace Room as we wait for the results to be tabulated.

In order to compete, players must have USGA handicaps.   Don't have a handicap?  You can still play in the event and participate in the on-course contests, but your score won't count toward the team score.  This event is for LPGA Amateurs members and guests only; max 1 guest per member.  If you and your guest have a USGA handicap, you can participate together in the team competition (team assignment will be based on the member's hometown).

Note: Players must either be willing to share a cart wearing masks, unless both players are comfortable riding without masks.
