Network Adequacy: Advancing the Consumer Perspective

We have a new opportunity to collaborate.  Our focus will be the network adequacy standards called for under HB1318 that are being developed through a regulatory process by the Maryland Insurance Administration.  You can read more about the history of this legislation on our website.

Advocates worked hard to get quantitative standards included in the law, but we did it. Now we are in the midst of hearings that began in June 2016 and will finish up in February 2017.  In addition to the testimony and comments we submitted during the hearings, we believe that now is the time to submit more comprehensive recommendations.

  • Join us, as we discuss the importance of these standards and how we developed our recommendations. The panelists will be ready to answer your questions.
  • Sign on to our comments and send a message to the MIA that strong quantitative standards are essential if consumers are going to get access to the care that they need and deserve.
