Pervious Concrete Technician Certification
Class, Written Exam, Lunch & Field Placement

9:00 am to 3:30 pm 

Pervious Concrete is a stormwater mitigation method that can meet and/or exceed the Local Stormwater BMP Guidelines and Municipal Codes.

Pervious Certification is required by most specifications.  Contractors must have at least one supervisory pervious certified employee on the jobsite the entire time pervious concrete is being placed. Certifications are revolcable in the event of poor workmanship or failure to follow the proceedures outlined in the Pervious Concrete Training.

Certification does not guarantee workmanship but is does indicate a minimum knowledge of the subject matter by passing the exam and participating in the filed placement.

• Classroom session starts at 9:00 am in the CPG Office Training Room.  
  It will consist of a PowerPoint presentation and discussion.
• Written Exam (Mainly Multiple Choice and True/False Questions) immediately follow the training.
  Participants must achieve 80% or higher on the exam to pass.   
• Lunch is provided following the Written Exam.
• Field, Hands on Training will be at the Fordyce Concrete Plant in Kansas City, MO at approx. 1:15 pm. 
  Participants will be given a map at lunch to help them proceed to the Fordyce Plant location.
• Participants should dress appropriately and come prepared with work boots, work clothing, gloves. Contractors please bring a come-along or square nosed shovel.  Everyone participates in the field placement. Yes, engineers, architects, inspectors etc. too!

There are continuing education credits available for engineers, architects, landscape architects, contractors etc.  4 credits.  

Once you sign up for the certification, go to the CPG Website and print a copy of The Pervious Concrete Handbook and the Specifiers Guide to Pervious Concrete to bring to the class with you.

There are 4 levels of Pervious Certification available.

• Technician (everyone starts out here!)
• Installer (Document experience on 3 different projects, with a total area exceeding 10,000 sq. ft, plus more!)
• Craftsman (Document experience exceeding 1,500 hours more than the Installer Level and more!)
• Team Certification (A specific contractor and a specific ready mix producer team up for very advanced certification process as a team, plus more!)
