Yard Sale Map Extension: To be on the Yard Sale Map the FINAL deadline is now May 24th.

Participants can pay until June 3rd at 5pm, but will not be included on the Yard Sale Map. 

Yard Sale (8am - 1pm)

The annual Kentlands Community Yard Sale & Shred-it Event will take place on Saturday, June 4th from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. Residents will be hosting their personal yard sale from their front, back, and side yards, as well as their driveways and garages. Condo owners are welcome to use the Clubhouse Lawn to stage their yard sale. Residents that would prefer utilizing the lawn in lieu of their private property are also welcome to use the lawn.

10' x 10' spaces will be marked off and available on a first-come-first- served basis.   

The Kentlands Citizens Assembly will be placing an ad in the Washington Post, on Facebook, Nextdoor and other local yard sale sites. Residents are encouraged to decorate their yards and homes with balloons and signage to encourage shoppers to stop and shop.

Shred-It (9am - 12pm)

The company Shred-It will be in the Kentlands at the Clubhouse Lawn from 9am - 12pm to securely shred all your old documents. Shred-It asks that you place all documents within a standard size paper box or Bankers Box and bring all items to the truck located at the Clubhouse Lawn. They will allow boxes to be dropped off or you can watch your items being shredded. 

Participation in the Community Yard Sale & Shred-It event is $15, whether you take part in one or both events. This fee defrays the cost of advertisement in the Washington Post, the shredding services, and affords you a spot on the Yard Sale Map.

Register online and submit your $15 participation fee in check or cash to the Clubhouse by June 3rd at 5pm. Payment must be received by May 24th for your home to be included on the Yard Sale Map. Checks should be made payable to the Kentlands Citizens Assembly.

Note:

  • Spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis. 
  • Chairs, tables, tents and umbrellas are not provided.
  • Be sure to price and sort items prior to event.
  • All belongings must be removed from the lawn at the end of the event.
