Want to feel more comfortable with your color choices before starting a project?
Make the Modular Mitts with Designer, Ann Weaver!
In this Workshop, Ann will present a brief overview of Color Theory and help you choose a color palette you'll love. The Modular Mitts project offers the perfect opportunity to experiment with color by using small amounts of yarn and simple modular knitting techniques.
Inspired by the paintings of Mark Rothko and the color studies of Johannes Itten and his students at the Bauhaus school, these Mitts are designed to showcase the interactions among colors.
Skills required: casting on, knitting, and binding off.
Skills learned: intro to color theory, choosing a great color combination, modular knitting techniques, how to pick up and knit stitches along vertical & horizontal edges
To make the Workshop even more fun, Ann will be mixing up cocktails for us and sharing cocktail tips she's learned from her bartender jobs.

Ann Weaver has created things her whole life. She learned to knit when she was seven.
Since graduating from New York University with majors in Art and English, Ann has worked as a deli associate, Harvard graduate student in Assyriology, Macy's cosmetics counter manager, teaching fellow, assistant curator, state bureaucrat, temp, Akkadian instructor, medical secretary, assistant office manager, barback, commercial bread baker, and proofreader, among other things. She is always looking for a new adventure!
Her design work reflects this quest for adventure. While retaining a clean wearable aesthetic, Weaverknits designs experiment with asymmetry, and unusual color and yarn combinations.
We'll display many of her designs during the Workshop.
