The Kansas Chapter RMA is excited to partner with IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) and AFWA (Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance) for a Business Analytics presentation from Mike Ditch, Data Analytics Consultant with AGH, LC. You won't want to miss his presentation:
Data Analytics: Testing internal controls and becoming a Business Intelligence (BI) Organization
The first part will address a unique application of data analytics – testing internal controls to manage your fraud, waste and abuse (FWA) risk. Learn why your organization may be at risk for FWA, how you can be more vigilant about detecting anomalies and patterns that may signal ongoing FWA, and see how data analytics can help ensure your internal controls are doing their job.
The second part will address the typical application of data analytics – Business Intelligence (BI). With all of the hype around big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, it’s difficult to understand the value your data can provide. Learn how you can improve your organization’s performance and find the story hiding in your data by asking the right questions and collecting the right data.
Mike is a consultant in the technology services group. He works closely with clients to assist them with various data analytics projects such as data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL); visualization and dashboard creation; and fraud, waste and abuse control testing.
A Topeka native, Mike graduated from Washburn University with bachelor degrees in economics, management and marketing. He then earned his juris doctorate from Washburn University School of Law. Mike also earned an MBA in finance and entrepreneurship from Wichita State University.
In addition to the presentation, this event offers a wonderful opportunity to learn more about RMA, IMA and AFWA, and to network with like-minded professionals. Beverages and appetizers served.
A special 'thank you' to event host, Allen Gibbs & Houlik, LC
