ABOUT ARI:
An award winning instructor, performer, and educator, Ari has been teaching and inspiring dancers in the greater Seattle area, nationally, and internationally for over 25 years.  As a teacher, he is well-known for his fun, energetic, well-organized, creative classes, and for his ability to breakdown even the most complex moves into simple, easy-to-follow instructions.

In the world of fusion dance, Ari has been lauded as one of this country's leading innovators in fusion swing, waltz, NC2S, and blues.  He and his partner were the first international instructors invited to teach Lindy Hop in Israel, where they were also the first to introduce "blues" dancing to that country.  Further afield, Ari is the co-founder and director of "New Zealand Dance Adventure" & "Waltz Week in Vienna" (now in it's fifth year).  You can learn more about Ari and see videos of his dancing at www.rolluptherug.com

THE CLASSES:

"Swingin' Outside The Box!" (An introduction to Fusion-Swing):

... Learn the art of improvisation and the use of alternate rhythms with this fun East Coast Swing (ECS)-based approach to dance that integrates elements of swing, blues, and balboa to create something new and wonderful. In this workshop you'll not only learn a whole host of fun, original steps and combinations, but also a greater appreciation for those elements of partnering, framework, and connection that make the dance that much sweeter! All three classes are geared toward the non-novice dancer, and assume comfort with ECS basics.

PART 1: "Swing-Fusion Foundations & Cross Breaks"
In this class, we'll explore foundational "alternate rhythm" phrases and conversational steps that break out of regular six-count swing . A great introduction to leading through energy!

Part 2: "Driving the Line"
Continuing with our fusion theme, these more advanced alternate rhythm steps are not only fun and inventive, but will push your swing to new heights!

Part 3: The "Balboa" Connection, [or teacher's choice option]:
In this last class, we'll dive into some delightful and more flashy bal-swing variations, but in this case, ones which can be done from an ECS basic (avoiding any need to have mastered balboa). Perfect for those who don't know balboa basics, and equally perfect for those who do, but who would like to learn how to launch bal-swing moves from a different base step. (NOTE: Class topic may change at teachers discretion, but only to something even more juicy and enticing!)
