July 22, 2017 Personal Protection Inside the Home Instructor Training

Best Training Opportunity in Ohio!

This course is for the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Instructor Candidate Training.

Hundreds have chosen Armed2Defend for their NRA Instructor training because it is the most comprehensive and complete training. Graduates learn what it truly takes to successfully teach this NRA course. Armed2Defend has trained over 14,000 in concealed carry here in central Ohio.

Successful completion of this NRA Instructor course is dependent on:

  1. Must be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor (training available on July 15 & 16, 2017)
  2. Completing the pre-course qualifications, details are below.
  3. Attending and completing the entire course.
  4. Performance in class participation and exercises.
  5. Completed the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within 24 month of this course (if you didn't take training through Armed2Defend, then you must show documentation). Can take it on November 19; contact Kevin.
  6. Attaining a score of 90% or higher on the open book NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Instructor Examination. This exam is taken at the class.
  7. Paying the NRA processing and registration fees. This fee will be automatically calculated by the NRA and it will vary based on your current instructor certifications.

Course Goal: To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skill, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home course.

Special Offers:

As an Armed2Defend exclusive, at this class you will have a question and answer session with Attorney Ken Hanson who not only specializes in Ohio's firearm laws but who is also an active certified NRA Instructor.

Class Times:

This one day course starts 8:00 am on Monday at Donatos Pizza in Reynoldsburg. We finish the day on at the Armed2Defend Range in Canal Winchester at 6:30 pm. The range address will be given after you sign up and at the class.

No guns and ammunition are allowed in the classroom.

Registration Payment Options:

The NRA Pistol Instructor Candidate Training Class Fee is only $175 and it includes all of the course material needed for the day. It does not cover food, drinks, NRA instructor registration fees (paid directly to the NRA), pistol usage, and ammunition (100 rounds). More ammo will be needed to complete the pre-course qualification. Pistol must be a 9 mm or higher caliber for semi-automatics or 38 special or higher caliber for revolvers.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required for registration and it is specific for the class date that you are registering for. Switching dates, cancelations, or no shows result in deposit forfeiture. Rescheduling requires a new $50 deposit payment. Also, if a candidate is unable to complete the pre-course qualifications before the class date, the deposit is also forfeited. The remaining paid class fees can be refunded or applied to a future class date.

You have two registration payment options:

  1. Prepay the $175 class fee in whole. This option includes the $50 non-refundable deposit. The remainder $125 is refundable and transferable.
  2. Pay only the $50 non-refundable deposit and pay the remaining $125 at the class ($175 total fee).

If you are rescheduling, then you will need to pay the non-refundable deposit again. If you already paid the class fee, please make a comment in the comment box when registering as to what class date you previously paid for so that we can apply that payment towards your current class date, you will still need to pay the $50 non-refundable deposit to finalize registration. Absolutely no exceptions are made for refunding the non-refundable deposit.

If you choose to mail a check or money order as payment, payment must be received before registration can be completed. Returned checks are subject to a fee.

Pre-Qualification Steps:

The list of pre-qualification steps are in this packet. This can be completed on the day of the training. Be sure to practice all the drills before the training. Ask if you have questions. Also, please be sure to bring enough ammo to complete this qualification.

Food and Drink Options:

We will do a working lunch so you have the choice of packing a lunch or you can purchase food and drinks from Donatos Pizza. Food and drink selections can be made in the classroom.

Registration Tips:

Please register using your name as you want it submitted to the NRA. Each participant has to register and pay separately.

A unique email address is required for each registrant. If you do not have an email address, make up an address using @none.com for the domain. Before the class, we will send class updates through email and after the class we occasionally send law updates and other valuable concealed carry information.

Shooting Range:

The shooting range is an outdoor private range in Canal Winchester. We will end the class at the range. The actual range address will be given after you register. It is about a 20-minute drive from the classroom. Please dress appropriate for the weather. Do not bring your firearm into Donatos.

You are not guaranteed to pass this course. Only Instructor Candidates who pass all course requirements will become Certified NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Instructors.

Please contact Kevin if you have any questions.
