Columbus Women's Shooting Group

This group is for any lady 21 or older (or 18 or older but accompanied by a lady who is 21 or older) at any skill level. There are no prerequisite requirements. Come to one meeting or come to them all! You will have fun and learn something new in the low pressure, non-judgmental company of other like-minded women! 

Lessons will be guided by women and men who are NRA Certified Pistol Instructors. The first hour is teaching and discussion around the selected topic and the second hour is range time with instructors standing by ready to help you as much or as little as you’d like. 

If you don’t have a handgun of your own you can rent one from us for a $5 fee plus the cost of ammunition. (Ammo prices vary depending on caliber). We have 22lr, 45 Auto, 40 cal, 38 special, 380 auto and 9mm options available to rent.

We need to know how many ladies to expect so that we have the right number of instructors on hand. We require all participants to preregister and pay the $15 fee before the meeting. 

This Month's Topic:

For August's Meeting we will discuss why continued learning and skill development is important. One of the specific opportunities we will discuss is the NRA MARKSMANSHIP QUALIFICATION PROGRAM. Each lady will have the opportunity to shoot one level for free as part of the $15 meeting fee (which is a $20 value!!). We will also practice different dry fire exercises you can and should be doing regularly. 

    

What to Bring:

1. Notebook and pen for meeting and instructional notes.
2. Eye and ear protection (or borrow some from us for free)
3. Unloaded pistol in a carrying bag or case. Absolutely NO HOLSTERED or LOADED pistols allowed; even if you have a concealed carry license.
4. Ammunition for your pistol.
5. Range clothing: Most women prefer to wear a hat while shooting to protect their hair from the gun smoke. Wear tight necked shirts to protect from spent casings from going down your shirt.

 

The following optional items will be offered for sale at the meeting:

1. Handgun rental for $5 (does not include ammunition). 
2. Ammunition (price ranges from $10 to $22 per box of 50 depending on caliber)
3. Electronic ear protection ($35 to $38)
4. Gun Cleaning kit (includes training with an instructor if you'd like on how to clean your firearm) $35
5. Sample Pack that allows you to test fire 14 different pistols for $30

 

Meeting Times & Location:

The meeting starts at 6 pm at Armed2Defend's private shooting range and will end at 8 pm. Please plan to arrive 20 minutes early so that the meeting can start on time. You'll enjoy having those extra few minutes before we start to chat with all the friendly like-minded ladies.

The range address will be emailed after you register for the class. Please note that this is a private address and no visiting is allowed outside of the class time.   

 

Payment Options:

The meeting fee is only $15 which includes instruction and range time. This is a non-refundable payment to reserve your spot. This fee must be prepaid with a credit/debit card through PayPal. (You DO NOThave to have a PayPal acct to pay through PayPal). There are no refunds for canceled or missed meetings.
