This 1-day multi-state training class meets the training requirements for the Ohio, Florida, and Arizona Concealed Handgun License (CHL, CCW) training. From this class you will receive everything that is needed to apply for your Ohio license through a county sheriff's office that covers 33 states. By obtaining multiple state licenses, you will be able to carry in the maximum number of states, up to 37 states. Reciprocity details will be given in class.

If you have never touched a gun before, this is the perfect training course for you! This basic handgun course is designed to start at the fundamental levels and work up through more advanced concealed carry topics. This progressive instruction accommodates both beginning and experienced shooter. We've trained everyone from people who have never touched a handgun to former Navy Seals, all in the same classroom.

Training Course Summary:

Simply put, we'll give you everything that you need in order to complete the training and everything that you need in order to apply for the Ohio license. All you'll have to bring is your ID, pen and paper for notes, and what you want to do about food and drinks for the day (options listed below).

Comprehensive Training:

Armed2Defend's classes cover all aspects of firearm usage and concealed carrying. Here is a list of what is included in the course:

We provide everything that you'll need for the training with no hidden fees. The only thing not provided is food and drinks; options are explained below.
Two hour Ohio firearm law training with Attorney/Author Ken Hanson. He allows for questions throughout his entertaining and informational presentation. Ken Hanson wrote the more recent Ohio concealed carry laws and is one of the top experts in Ohio firearm laws.
One-on-one range instruction on our expansive covered range.
Everything that you need for applying for your Ohio license, including the passport style photo that you attach to the application ($10 value). We can also provide Florida and Arizona applications in the class.
Guaranteed to meet the Ohio training requirements which require twelve hours of instruction including two hours of range instruction, and taught by certified National Rifle Association (NRA) Pistol Instructors.
The usage of handgun (22lr), ammunition (22lr), and safety equipment while on the range is included. However we recommend that you bring your own handgun so that we can customize our instruction to your firearm since all handguns require different techniques. If you do not already have a handgun, we strongly recommend that you wait to purchase after the course.
Option to shoot and qualify with your pistol. We will tailor your instruction to your pistol. There are additional lanes available for you to continuing practicing after you qualify. We require shooting at least 50 rounds to qualify.
Other recommended concealed carry handguns are available for use on the range. There is no rental fee to test out these pistols but you'll have to supply or buy the ammunition for these non-22lr guns. These include Smith and Wesson M&P 40 compact and M&P 9mm, Ruger LC9 (9mm), LCR (38 special), and LCP (380 auto), Springfield Armory XDs 45 ACP, and Glock 42 (380 auto). Some of these guns have the Crimson Trace Laser installed.
Optional items are available for home reference. These items are priced below retail to increase your savings.

Registration Payment Options:

Class Fee is only $90 with a bonus offer if you prepay the full class fee. This fee includes everything that you need to complete your training except for food and drinks. A $10 non-refundable deposit is required for registration and it is specific for the class date that you are registering for. Switching dates, cancelations, or no shows result in deposit forfeiture. Rescheduling requires a new $10 deposit payment. Rescheduling with a gift certificate also requires a $10 non-refundable deposit.

You have three registration payment options:

Prepay the $90 class fee in whole. As a bonus with full prepayment, you will receive a free year of NRA associate membership when you attend the class. This option includes the $10 non-refundable deposit. The remaining $80 is refundable and transferable.
Pay only the $10 non-refundable deposit and pay the remaining $80 at the class ($90 total fee).
Gift Certificates: If you have a gift certificate please select this option and you'll be required to turn the original gift certificate in at the class as payment. The gift certificate already includes your first $10 non-refundable deposit. If you need to cancel a class date, then a new $10 non-refundable deposit is required to register for the new class date.

If you are rescheduling, then you will need to pay the non-refundable deposit again. If you already paid the class fee, please make a comment in the comment box when registering as to what class date you previously paid for so that we can apply that payment towards your current class date, you will still need to pay the $10 non-refundable deposit to complete registration. Absolutely no exceptions are made for refunding the non-refundable deposit.

If you choose to mail a check or money order as payment, payment must be received before registration can be completed. Returned checks are subject to a fee.

Food and Drink Options:

We will do a working lunch so you have the choice of packing a lunch or you can purchase food and drinks from Donatos. For dinner you can buy grilled items at the range, pickup drive-through on the way back to the classroom from the range, or order through Donatos. Food and drink selections can be at the class.

Registration Tips:

Please register using your name as it appears on your driver's license so that your certificate will match for the sheriff (first name first). Each participant has to register and pay separately.

A unique email address is required for each registrant. If you do not have an email address, make up an address using @none.com for the domain. Before the class, we will send class updates through email and after the class we occasionally send law updates and other valuable concealed carry information.

Shooting Range:

The shooting range is a covered outdoor private range in Canal Winchester. Since it is covered you won't have to worry about standing in the sun, rain, or snow. We will carpool to the range during the class and then return to the classroom to complete the instruction. It is about a 20 minute drive from the class to the range. Please dress appropriate for the weather. If you are bringing your own pistol, please plan to shoot at least 50 rounds for qualifying. Eye and ear protection is provided for those who do not bring their own.

This course is guaranteed to meet Ohio's concealed handgun training requirements.

This is not an NRA approved course but it is taught by NRA Certified Pistol Instructors. Ohio does not require the course to be an official NRA class just that it is taught by NRA certified instructors.
