This annual CLE program will provide an overview of new laws enacted by the Connecticut General Assembly and Practice Book changes recently adopted by the judges of the Superior Court. It is ideal for solo, small firm and general practitioners.

  • Recent new laws affecting various practice areas such as civil and criminal law and justice, public health, construction, consumer protection, energy and public utilities, real estate, environmental, estates and probate, Freedom of Information Act, planning and development, and municipalities.
  • The state budget and taxes and spending for state agencies and programs. Impact of budget cuts and staff reductions on Superior Court operations and services for attorneys and clients.
  • New Superior Court rules concerning civil practice and procedure that take effect Jan. 1, 2018; update on minimum continuing legal education; proposed revisions to the Connecticut Code of Evidence.
  • What to expect from the General Assembly and state government in 2018 for legislation, the state budget, policies and regulations concerning civil law, practice and procedure.
