Every year we dedicate our Walk to a special animal who represents the many animals that came to our shelter or that we rescued from a cruelty situation. This year, Meet Louie. Neglect Case #A310205
Hurt and alone, this sweet older boy was found by a concerned citizen and brought into our shelter. His front leg was severely injured, his teeth were bad and he was a matted mess. With no microhip, collar or tags we were unable to locate an owner. Donations to our Angel Fund made it possible for us to help this little guy get back on his feet. We immediately sought treatment at a local veterinarian who was able to assess little Louie's needs. He had broken his radius and ulna and was in need of a dental. Once his surgery was complete he needed time to heal before he could be placed into our adoption program. A wonderful volunteer, Heather, stepped forward to care for Louie in her home the the weeks it would take for him to recover. In his foster home Louie flourished. Six weeks into his home care, multiple vet visits and a groomer later, foster moms Heather and Ruth decided their family would not be complete without him. Louie now lives happily with his two brothers Toby, a Pomeranian and Cooper a German Shepherd. He also has a big sister B.G., a shepherd and 5 Kitty friends. Louie resides in Paw Paw, Michigan and is cherished and loved by his foster mom who nursed him back to health and gave him a second chance in his new forever home.
