Creative Arts Therapy programs provide the opportunity to develop social skills, self-awareness, expressive and receptive language, self-esteem and adaptive coping skills by providing a motivating modality for self-expression and participation. This interactive presentation will provide information on using music, art and dance as a therapy technique in individual, group, classroom and family settings. Participants will learn how these modalities can be individually modified or adapted to fit a variety of needs and work with multiple ages and populations (ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, TBI, Cerebral Palsy, etc). Creative Arts activities that meet goals and objectives that are relevant to these populations will be discussed and audience members will observe and/or participate in activities that would be used in a typical therapeutic setting. This FREE workshop is designed for K-5th grade teachers and parents/caregivers curious about Creative Arts Therapy.
