Prosecutor Bootcamp 

Please join us for Prosecutor Bootcamp!  This two-day class introduces basic concepts of prosecution and is intended for people with less than two years of experience in a prosecutor's office.  The class will include sessions discussing the role of the prosecutor, charging decisions, developing a case theory, drafting search warrants, pre-trial motions, and the special considerations in prosecuting the cases most likely to be assigned to young prosecutors--DWIs and domestic assaults. 

The class will be held February 13-14, 2013, on the 4th Floor of the Governor's Office Building, located at 200 Madison Street in Jefferson City.  Registration will begin at 8:00 am on February 13.  The course will conclude with an optional 2-hour Karpel training on February 14.  The class will be worth 13.5 hours of CLE (11.1 hours if you do not attend the Karpel session). 

The registration fee for this class will be $100.00 per person.  If possible, payment should be made in advance by sending a check made out to the MOPS Revolving Fund to P.O. Box 899, Jefferson City, MO 65102. 

For those of you who will be traveling to Jefferson City for this class, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Capital Plaza Hotel located at 415 West McCarty Street just down the street from the Governor's Office Building.  The rooms will be $99 per night, plus any applicable taxes.  This rate includes breakfast at the hotel.  Reservations can be made by calling the hotel at 573-635-1234 or 800-338-8088 and asking for the block of rooms reserved for the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services.  Reservations  must be made by January 3, 2013, to guarantee the group rate.  Reservations made after January 3 will be subject to availability and the prevailing rate.
