Cross-Currents Between Religion and Psychotherapy

FEATURING:
"Freud and God: What Went Wrong?" presented by Salman Akhtar, MD
and
"The Bhagavad Gita as Seen Through the Lens of Psychoanalysis" presented by Satish Reddy, MD

Religion and spirituality are of relevance to the lives of a large portion of psychotherapy patients, defining their values, beliefs, and lifestyle choices. Enhancing sensitivity and respect to these beliefs, values, and practices helps clinicians to provide culturally, religiously, and spiritually sensitive treatments to their patients, as well as make them more effective, empathic, sensitive clinicians. The presenters, Dr. Akhtar and Dr. Reddy, are very knowledgeable  on both religious and psychotherapeutic writings, and are nationally and internationally well respected speakers.
