9/23/21 Eco Justice Blue Bear Daytrip

The Eco-Justice Center is an environmental education center, founded in 2004 by the Racine Dominicans. Protecting the land, as well as the plant and animal species that live on the property, is vital. So, too, is preserving the farm buildings that date from 1870’s onward. We will take a docent-led tour of this unique setting and learn how they care for Earth on a living, working farm, while rooted in the traditions of the Racine Dominicans and in the history of this land.
The farm-to-table menu at Blue Bear Bakery is seasonal. It is too early to list their lunch options for our visit. Once you are registered, look for an email from ALL with three lunch choices in early September.
Schedule:
10:45 am: Arrive at the Eco-Justice Center and turn left to park in main lot. Meet Nancy outside the (closed) gift shop and get your entrance sticker. (Note: This is a rain or shine event. Please dress appropriately.)
11 – 11: 50 am: Docent-led tour of the Eco-Justice Center. We will have two docents, each of whom will lead 15 people.
11:50 – 12:30 pm: Time on your own at the Eco-Justice Center.
12:30 – 12:45 pm: Take a short drive to Blue Bear Bakery.
12:45 – 2:15 pm: Arrive at Blue Bear Bakery for Lunch. Meet Tricia just inside the bakery. Blue Bear Bakery Lunch (622 – 3 Mile Road, Racine, WI 53402)

If you pay by credit card, your credit card will be refunded. (Minus the $5 cancelation fee)
If you pay by check you will be issued a university refund check.
