Meet the Creators of THE LOVE GUIDE
with Christy Scott Cashman and Derek Purvis
You will not want to miss this special presentation and discussion with the creators of the Massachusetts produced, THE LOVE GUIDE (working title "Sunny Side Up").
This home-grown comedy feature executed from script to post right here in MA, starring Parker Posey and Christy Scott Cashman has acheived worldwide distribution for release this year. Joining us will be the masterminds behind locally based Saint Aire productions, Christy Scott Cashman (Producer/ Writer/Actor) and Derek Estlin Purvis (Producer & Director).

Kickstarter & Crowdfunding for Films
Highlighting three MA made films and the directors behind them successfully using Kickstarter to help get them made. Learn what crowdfunding is all about and how these filmmakers found success sharing the story of their productions. The Showcase will be moderated by Bestor Cram (Northern Light Productions) and Susi Walsh (Center for Independent Documetary.)
The American Revolution, Directed by Bill Lichtenstein
Raising over $114,000, Peabody Award-winning Lichtenstein Creative Media found support using Kickstarter to complete the documentary, produced for theatrical and PBS release in 2012. This ground-breaking production shows the exciting, untold story of the legendary free-form radio station WBCN-FM, and underground media in Boston from 1968 to 1974. The Banjo Project, Directed by Marc Fields
Narrated by Steve Martin, Give Me The Banjo is a 90-minute documentary about America's quintessential musical instrument from its African roots to the 21st century, featuring performances and commentary from contemporary masters such as Earl Scruggs, Pete Seeger, Taj Mahal, Bela Fleck, Ralph Stanley, The Carolina Chocolate Drops and more! Learn how Marc Fields completed the PBS Broadcast film with help from crowdfunding to move through post production- generating national press and over 4,000 followers on Facebook along the way. The Vigil, Directed by Jenny Alexander
Jenny Alexander, an independent filmmaker and producer at Northern Light Productions, raised enough funding to complete her labor of love, "La Vigilia". The film is a story of resistance and strength as three immigrant women risk everything when they stand up for their community in an extraordinary way. This moving story inspired friends and followers to help bring the film to completion and shed a unique light on the clash over Arizona's groundbreaking anti-immigration law.
