CESA #1 Regional Spelling Bee 

2020 Registration

The road to the Scripps National Spelling Bee begins each fall/winter when students in grades 3-8 compete in spelling bees at the classroom, grade, and/or school level. Spelling champions from participating public districts, charter schools, and private schools throughout Southeastern Wisconsin compete in one of the five regional spelling bees facilitated by CESA #1 during the week of February 17-21, 2020. Regional spelling bee champions from CESAs across Wisconsin will advance to the Badger State Spelling Bee on March 7, 2020. The top speller from the state bee qualifies for the Scripps National Spelling Bee, which is held at the end of May near Washington D.C.

Important Registration Information
In addition to enrolling with Scripps, participating public districts and charter/private/home schools must register with CESA #1 for the 2020 regional spelling bee by December 20, 2019.

The regional registration fee is is based on total enrollment in grades 3 through 8 in a public district or charter/private/home school. Click HERE to access a spreadsheet listing the total enrollment in grades 3-8 for all schools in the CESA #1 region.

 PLEASE REMEMBER:  Participating schools must also enroll with Scripps for the National Spelling Bee at
 www.spellingbee.com to be eligible to participate in a CESA #1 Regional Spelling Bee. Scripps early enrollment is $165 for each participating school. Early enrollment ends October 15, 2019.  During the Scripps regular enrollment period - October 16 through December 20, 2019 - the fee is $240 per school.
