CESA #1 Regional Spelling Bee 

2018 Registration

The road to the Scripps National Spelling Bee begins each fall/winter when participating schools conduct spelling bees for students in grades 3-8 at the classroom, grade, and/or school level. Spelling champions from participating public districts, charter schools and private schools will compete in one of the five regional spelling bees facilitated by CESA #1 in mid-February. Regional spelling bee winners from CESAs across Wisconsin will advance to the Badger State Spelling Bee in March. The top three spellers from the state bee qualify for the Scripps National Spelling Bee, which is held at the end of May near Washington D.C.

Important Registration Information
In addition to enrolling with Scripps, participating public districts and charter/private/home schools must register with CESA #1 for the 2018 regional spelling bee by January 15, 2018.

The regional registration fee is is based on total enrollment in grades 3 through 8 in a public district or charter/private/home school. Click HERE to access a spreadsheet listing the total enrollment in grades 3-8 for all CESA #1 public districts and charter schools.

 PLEASE REMEMBER:  Participating schools must also enroll with Scripps for the National Spelling Bee at
 www.spellingbee.com to be eligible to participate in a CESA #1 Regional Spelling Bee. Scripps early bird enrollment is $151 for each participating school. Early bird enrollment ends October 15, 2017  During the regular enrollment period - from October 16 through December 15, 2017 - the fee is $226 per school.
