In the afternoon, Sara Daniel of SaintA, will discuss trauma sensitive schools and application in the school setting as well as integrating the knowledge about trauma and ACE into policies, procedures, and practices in schools.
About the Presenters
Dr. Dipesh Navsaria, MPH, MSLIS, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University School of Medicine & Public Health. He practices primary care pediatrics at Access Community Health Center. He is the founder and director of the Pediatric Early Literacy Projects at the University of Wisconsin and is also the founding Medical Director of Reach Out and Read Wisconsin.
Sara Daniel, MSW, LCSW, is the Director of Clinical Services and Staff Development for SaintA. Sara has been collaborating with school districts to provide consultation and training in working with students affected by trauma, mental health issues or behavioral challenges. Sara is a member of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Trauma Sensitive Schools workgroup is the co-author of the Trauma Sensitive Schools Toolkit available on the DPI website.

This workshop is supported by the Wisconsin Early Childhood Collaborating Partners (WECCP), the Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative (WSPEI) grant, and the Early Childhood grant.
