Facilitating IEPs: Training for LEA Representatives

Audience: Principals, Associate/Assistant Principals; Deans of Students; Directors of Special Education/Pupil Services, School Psychologists and other Pupil Services Staff.

The LEA (Local Educational Agency) Representative plays a vital and necessary role on the IEP team. Each IEP team meeting must include a LEA Representative who is:
- qualified to provide or supervise the provision of special education services, and
- who is knowledgeable about the general education curriculum, and
- who is authorized by the district (local education agency) to commit the district resources

This training will provide insight into the critical components of the IEP, a deep understanding of the commitment of resources, best practices in IEP meeting facilitation, consensus building, and conflict resolution.
