Topic: Atlanta Streetcar - Starting Up and Moving Ahead

Description: The Atlanta Streetcar opened its doors to the public December 30th 2014, and has welcomed over 640,000 riders since then.  Come hear Keith Jones, the new Interim Executive Director of the Atlanta Streetcar, and Angie Laurie from Central Atlanta Progress / Atlanta Downtown Improvement District share how Atlanta’s first modern streetcar is maturing from a start-up service just nine months ago into a key component of the City’s transportation fabric.  The Atlanta Streetcar represents the first step in a new era for transit – one that connects to Atlanta’s rich history in rail transit and transforms how we get around in our community.

Tour: Immediately following the meeting, come join us as we tour the Streetcar Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF), located just blocks away from the Loudermilk Center!  Experience an exciting behind the scenes look at how the Streetcar operates!  Tour will last approximately 30 minutes; open to the first 30 that sign up!

Early Cost/Registration: $25 Private Sector Member, $15 Public Sector Members, $15 Life Members, $10 Job Seekers, $30 for non-Members.  Students are free if registered online.  On-line registration via the ITE website (link below) ends on Monday, October 12th at midnight, or when the room limit is reached.

Late Cost/Registration: Walk-ups are welcome at the door as space allows; walk-ups and late registrants will be charged $5 extra.

Menu: Assorted sandwiches, chips, dessert, and drinks; veggie/gluten free option available.

Parking options:

• MARTA is encouraged – Less than a 5 minute walk from the Peachtree Center station!
• Attached Deck off of Lynches Alley (the street off of Courtland Ave, after Auburn Ave. and before Edgewood Ave.): $5 for 2 hours.  50% validation offered for attendees that bring in parking ticket. Credit Card accepted.
