WWI Centennial Lecture Series: Rand Hoppe 

"Hoboken in WWI Documentary Films!" 

Red Cross Volunteers in Hudson Park _Now Stevens Park_ circa 1917 As part of the Museum's World War I Centennial Lecture Series, on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 4 pm, Hoboken Museum Collections Manager Rand Hoppe will present documentary film footage shot in and around Hoboken during World War I, 1917 - 1919. The footage brings to life the experience of being in a port of embarkation during America's first modern war. (Pictured at right, a group of Red Cross volunteers, who helped prepare the soldiers for embarkation, marches through Hudson Park (now Stevens Park). 

Due to popular demand for our previous lecture series, advance reservations are strongly advised. Sign up by clicking the button below. Admission will be collected at the door, lectures are $10 ($5 for members); bus tours are $20 ($10 for members).

The lecture series is funded by a special project grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission.
