Human trafficking is modern day slavery.
This all day conference on Human Trafficking will provide a comprehensive overview of the profile of sex and labor trafficking from a clinical/service perspective, protection and policies from law enforcement, prosecution and community based services and resources. A collaboration between the Office of San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon, Victim Services Department, Chief of Victim Services Gena Castro Rodriguez, PsyD, LMFT and San Francisco Mental Health Education Funds, the conference will address prevention, protection and services for victims and survivors.
Sex Trafficking, Labor Trafficking and Child Sexual Exploitation Victims are subjected to force, fraud, coercion, exploitation and violence. There are key cultural, psychological, physical, and economic risk factors that put male and female children, youth, adults, and elderly at risk. This training is for health and mental health professionals, community based service providers, law enforcement and defense/prosecution professionals.

Afternoon Panel Two: Community Based Services
Panel of community-based organizations will discuss their services and resources for victims of human trafficking.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors: Psycho-Legal Associates, Inc. is approved by The California Foundation for Advancement of Addiction Professionals (CFAAP), Provider # 1N-96-338-0514, to provide six CEHs per day in Advanced Education for Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADACs). CFAAP is the education board for the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC).
Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs): This Psycho-Legal Associates course is eligible for approval on a post-attendance basis of six C.E. hours for CRCs certified by the The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.
Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs, NCCs): Psycho-Legal Associates, Inc. is approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to provide continuing education to National Certified Counselors (Provider #: 5815)
Occupational Therapists (OTs): This Psycho-Legal Associates course provides six professional development units (PDUs) to OTs who determine that this specific course is related to his/her area of practice. As a reminder, OTs need to complete 24 PDUs of which 50% of the required number of PDUs must be directly related to the delivery of occupational therapy services, while the remaining units (up to 12) can be in other areas related to their practice.
