Promoting Membership and Participation in the General Education Setting - June 27-28, 2018 

**Lunch will be provided each day**

Purpose of the Training:  Topics of the training include:  evolutions in education of students with significant disabilities, high expectations and presumed competence, intensified supports planning through individualized and school-wide models (like MTSS), and promoting the use of accomodations to encourage students' participation in general accountability assessments.

Michael McSheehan is a project director with the Institute on Disability/UCED.  Michael currently serves as the Coordinator of Technical Assistance for the School-wide Integrated Framework for Transformation (SWIFT) Center, established in 2012, which is a national K-8 technical assistance center that builds school capacity to provide academic and behavioral support to improve outcomes for all students through equity-based inclusion.

Michael was a developer, researcher, and author of The Beyond Access Model, which has been used successfully by schools across the United States to promote membership in general education classrooms, participation in general education instruction, and learning of general education curriculum by students with significant disabilities.

Audience:  ECE Teachers, General Education Teachers, Related Service Personnel, Directors of Special Education, Instructional Coaches and School Administrators

Registration Deadline:  June 21, 2018

Cost:  FREE for OVEC Members; $40 Fee for Non-OVEC Members

Cancellation Policy:  School districts (or schools) will be billed following the activity based upon registration.  Cancellations must be made within ten (10) business days of the activity to avoid being billed the fee.  Substitutions will be allowed.
