Exploring the four thoughts that turn the mind towards the Dharma.
Many times we can struggle with having energy or inspiration for practice. This can be as a result of not seeing clearly the preciousness of this human life and the tenuousness of it. We can fail to see how to use our lives wisely and, as a result, are chasing after things in life that have no potential to bring us true happiness. In this evening we will explore the thoughts that can bring from within us interest and energy that help us turn our minds in the direction of deep peace and joy. Presented by Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley, this talk is freely offered to the community, and your generous support is appreciated.
These teachings provide practical ways to overcome feelings of complacency and the sense of taking life for granted. By exploring our confusion around what is meaningful and important in our lives, the four thoughts can help us find ways to embrace our meditation practice with a sense of joy and appreciation. This program is open to all who are interested in maintaining a regular meditation practice, from beginners to advanced meditators, regardless of faith or spiritual tradition.
Myoshin Kelley attended her first meditation retreat in 1975 at the age of 20. Through the ensuing years she has received dharma instructions from several renowned Buddhist meditation teachers in the Theravada, Zen and Vajrayana traditions. She spent 15 years as a meditation teacher at the Insight Mediation Society in Barre MA USA. Myoshin is a long-time student of Mingyur Rinpoche and an instructor for the Tergar Meditation Community.
