In this weekend retreat, we will explore the practice of insight meditation. By bringing our unchallenged beliefs and patterns into the light of awareness, we can see how our rigid ideas often blind us to the richness of our true nature. The wisdom that arises through insight meditation allows us to see our inner experience clearly. This leads to a sense of freedom, well-being, and confidence that is rooted in awareness itself and available to us each and every moment.
The schedule for this weekend workshop includes DVD teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, presentations on the key points of meditation practice by Tergar instructor Edwin Kelley, as well as guided meditations and discussion.
This retreat is open to meditators who have previously attended Joy of Living Level I and II meditation workshops and have met the practice requirements, and to others who have practiced meditation regularly for at least three years.
We do need fifteen registered attendees to confirm this event, so please register early if you plan to attend.
Edwin Kelley attended his first meditation retreat in 1975 and has practiced in both the Theravada and the Tibetan Buddhist traditions. He was Executive Director of the Insight Meditation Society from 1996-2003 and has a postgraduate diploma in Buddhist Studies. Edwin is a long-time student of Mingyur Rinpoche and Executive Director of Tergar International, the organization that oversees Rinpoche's activities around the world.
