Brain Disorders, Yoga, and Mindfulness: Maximizing Quality of Life through Non-medication Approaches

This interactive, two-day program will introduce the learner to the use of yoga as a modality for treating and managing symptoms associated with common brain disorders. Each day will conclude with an interactive practice session.

Topics include:

• Brain anatomy and chemistry
• Neurological basis of yoga and Chakra systems
• Yoga therapy to treat symptoms associated with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, traumatic brain injuries, dementia, and movement disorders

This intensive training is designed for yoga teacher trainees, yoga teachers, fitness instructors, health care providers (including physicians, nurses, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists, medical professionals, activity professionals, and social workers), and those who are the caregivers for individuals with any brain disorder.
