Sacred heart MaryPrayer For Our Country

O Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at this most critical time, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care.  Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your motherly protection.

Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people.  Open our minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom.  Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life.  Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God's law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a new Culture of Life.  Amen

Thank you for all you do.  You are so appreciated.  I do pray for ya'll everyday!

The blessings the meal has given me today have renewed my spirit which was at a uncomfortably low.  God is Great and so is Magnificat!!

Not enough paper to tell you what it [Magnificat] has meant in my life.

Love seeing all the beautiful ladies from across the diocese!

Filled with faith-full moments

You are wonderful.  It is good that Magnificat exists to hold together Catholic women.  Do not get discouraged, ever!

The service team is doing an amazing job, keep up the great work!!!!  (thanks, we feel the same way about our Advisory team of ladies and volunteers that help us in so many ways.  The meals wouldn't be a success without them.)

I love all "you-all" do for Mary and her children.

[She] was a very pleasant and welcoming hostess.  I brought my [guests], all from different or no churches, and they all felt welcome.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks ladies! Your comments are a blessing to all of us!

Mary, Woman of Faith Chapter

invites you to our

November 2nd  Prayer Breakfast

About our Speaker:

Patty Tucker

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."  - Psalm46-1

Patty Tucker, a cradle Catholic, was born in New Jersey and raised in Ft. Payne with eight siblings.  She has been married to her husband, Michael, for 40 years, and they are members of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church where Patty says she came to know and love God.  She was a Religious Education Teacher for seven years and is currently a member of the Parish Council and also serves in numerous other ministries.

Patty enjoyed 25 years in the tourism industry, working with the DeSoto State Park and as Director of Tourism for DeKalb County.  She was a member of the Fort Payne Kiwanis Club where she received numerous certificates for her work and was named Kiwanian of the Year.  Patty’s love of nature photography gives her the sense of being close to God.   During her employment, her photos were featured in many travel guidebooks, National Geographic, and Newsweek Magazines.

Patty’s terrible childhood brought her to God as she had nowhere else to turn.  She suffered with epilepsy, convulsions and abuse.  Marrying in 1979 immediately following high school graduation, Patty soon suffered from infertility and was told she could never have children.   Throughout the decades, Patty continued to bury the pain of her youth which caused her to be diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and was also the root of serious heart problems.

The strength Patty received from the Lord to overcome the monumental struggles in her life can only be compared to the strength given to David as he faced the giant Goliath!  In spite of her many trials, Patty exudes an easily recognized Christian joy.  She shows no anger or resentment, but only expresses forgiveness.  She says, “I could not have made it through this crazy, difficult life without God.” Throughout her career she was able to use her painful experiences to help others with their problems.

Patty states the most powerful way God impacted her life was when He sent Michael to her, and her life was forever changed for the better.  However, it was only after attending a Cursillo Weekend in 2010 that she was able to talk about her pain and to seek the proper help.  She is grateful for the wonderful spiritual leaders and dear friends God has placed in her life who have helped her through some of her darkest days.  Patty will share how her pain nearly destroyed her and caused her to question her relationship with God.  Patty says, “God knows I need Him, every hour of every day, and I find comfort in knowing He says to me, ’You are Mine.’”
