Scholarship Application 

 

Application Guidelines

The Shenandoah Valley Chapter Student Scholarship is funded by private donations received for student scholarships and chapter funds.

 Award Criteria and Amount

Each recipient must be attending a college or university within the chapter region and be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in accounting.  Each recipient must meet the deadline to submit an application, which includes a one-page essay. The amount of the annual award will be determined by the Shenandoah Valley Chapter Board of Directors, based on funds available.

 Application Process

Applications for the scholarship must be submitted to the Shenandoah Valley Chapter by the due date.  Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee of the Shenandoah Valley Chapter board. The committee will recommend each recipient to the board for final approval after verifying the recipient’s full-time status and major.  Each recipient will be notified by the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the award. Applicants not chosen will also receive notification from the Shenandoah Valley Chapter. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.

The essay is to be submitted by email to shenandoahvalleyvscpa@gmail.com as an attachment (MS Word or PDF file are the required document formats).The essay should be approximately one page in length. Please write your essay on the following question:

 Why do you want to pursue a degree in accounting and how will this scholarship assist you?
