Understanding and Supporting the Impact of Trauma on

Children and Young People who have experienced trauma often do not express their distress through words, but sometimes display it with challenging behaviours.  This course is designed for professionals working with children that have experienced trauma. The key focus of this one day training is to offer you the opportunity to develop your understanding of trauma and how it impacts on children and young people within the school setting.  Recent developments in the neuroscience of trauma will be presented in an accessible and understandable style. It is recognised that traumatised children can be hard to reach for a number of reasons. The training will offer you the opportunity to learn how to communicate and support children that have experienced trauma and develop a trauma sensitive school environment.
