SCORE "Steps to Business Ownership" Workshops 

Want to start your own business? Not sure what it takes or where to begin? Let SCORE guide you in the right direction.

SCORE is offering a 3-session workshop series called "Steps to Business Ownership" spread over the following 3 Tuesday evenings from 5:30pm until 8:30pm:

  • Tuesday, Feb 9th, 2016
  • Tuesday, Feb 23rd, 2016
  • Tuesday, Mar 1st, 2016.
Each workshop is interactive with examples, and supporting resources.  Presenters are seasoned business people who want to see you succeed. SCORE mentors will attend and be available to work with you for free outside of class.

Session 1 will provide an understanding of what it takes to own a business. You will learn ownership options, the pros and cons of each, responsibilities, and what it takes to succeed. This workshop is designed to help you reach a decision on whether you are ready to take the next step.

Sessions 2 and 3 address the key steps to business ownership. You will learn how to develop the elements of a business plan including marketing and financial plans and where and how to look for funding sources. You will participate in a case study designed to guide you through the thought processes which you can apply to your own business concepts. Session 3 ends with a self-evaluation to help you decide if you are prepared to move forward. 

The registration fee for the complete series is $30. You can register one guest for free. Payment can be made by check through the mail or using a credit card or PayPal account.
