Additional Information:

The NGVi CNG Fuel System Inspector Certification Exam provides an independent assessment of the knowledge and application of skills necessary for technicians to competently conduct a CNG fuel system inspection according to all applicable codes and standards. Certification designates that participants have sufficiently demonstrated the work-related knowledge, skills and competencies required to perform the tasks of a CNG fuel system inspector as measured in a written exam. To ensure the highest level of proficiency, the exam is comprised of multiple detailed and high-difficulty level questions covering all areas of CNG fuel system inspection. A video recording will be taken of the testing process.

            1. Please bring your driver’s license, passport, or state issued ID for identity confirmation purposes.

            2. The exam consists of 60 challenging multiple choice questions that measure your knowledge of the skills and competencies required to perform a CNG fuel system inspection according to all applicable codes, standards and industry best practices.

            3. You must understand and be able to apply the installation and inspection requirements found in NFPA 52 as well as CGA C-6.4. You may find it beneficial to obtain copies of these codes and standards as an additional study aid to help you prepare for the exam. Click on the links above for more information about how to obtain these documents.

            4. You must achieve an aggregate score of 80% to pass the certification exam. Due to the high level of competency required for CNG fuel system inspections, a significant percentage of technicians may not pass on the first attempt. Please do not be discouraged if this occurs--your registration fee covers two attempts at the exam.

Please note that during the exam you will be expected to:

Remain silent;
Remain in the testing room until your exam has been turned in;
Forego use of electronic devices; and
Bring no study materials into the testing room.

If any of these requirements is not followed, your test will be declared invalid and you will not receive a score. Refunds will not be made for failure to follow the testing procedure.
