Paddle Phillippi Creek on February 27th

Join Sarasota Bay Estuary Program for a free 2-3 mile educational paddle down Phillippi Creek. American Canoe Association Instructor, naturalist, and SBEP Citizen Advisory Committee member Brad Tanner will lead this educational kayak tour.

Phillippi Creek is a tidal creek that drains into Sarasota Bay. The creek is an essential part of the estuarine and marine food webs in our area as many marine organisms get their start in life in tidal creeks. Keep your eyes open for snook, mullet, redfish, and a huge variety of bird life! Remember to leave time after your paddle to check out your launching site, beautiful Pinecraft Park.

Please note: Participants must bring or rent their own kayak and gear. If you have never kayaked before, we strongly suggest that you take a class or participate in a “demo day” with a local kayak rental company BEFORE your Bay Wise trip. Bay Wise kayak tours are not recommended for novice kayakers.

Minors under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian in order to participate. Children under 10 years of age are discouraged from participating.
