Across the country and here in our region, Community Health Centers provide high quality and innovative medical, dental and mental health services that save money and improve lives for patients. Great Lakes Bay Health Centers, with 26 locations in five counties, offers care for everyone regardless of income or insurance. Health centers focus on preventative care to reduce ER and hospital visits and create healthier communities.
Speaker: Dr. Brenda M. Coughlin, President/CEO of Great Lakes Bay Health Centers
Dr. Brenda M. Coughlin is the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Great Lakes Bay Health Centers (GLBHC), a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), offering comprehensive healthcare services to patients in fifteen counties throughout Michigan. Dr. Coughlin earned a B.S. in Physiology, and a B.A. in German from Michigan State University. She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine and a Master’s of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan.
Soon after she began her career as a Staff Physician with Health Delivery, Inc., she was promoted to Medical Director, a position which she held for thirteen years before being named President/CEO, in April, 2012. As a Board Certified Family Physician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, her passion is to provide quality healthcare for the underserved, uninsured, and underinsured, and to build a company that strives for excellence. Dr. Coughlin is married with three children, and resides in Frankenmuth. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
