Summer Music Classes at VMA

VMA is offering four group summer music classes for children ages 3 months through 12 years. Summer is a time for music and family fun. Introduce your child to explore music in an exciting new way this summer.

Musikgarten classes are offered on Wednesday beginning June 17 through July 22, 2015.
Group Accordion class is offered on Thursday beginning June 18 through July 30, 2015.

Music Makers: My Neighborhood Community

VMA presents Music Makers My Neighborhood Community. This is a brand new offering for VMA. Students will investigate the many Home Places in your neighborhood. Explore around my home and your home. Compare where people, plants and animals live. Discover the majesty and wonder of the sunflower; find the perfect apple, and so much more.

This six week course is geared for children ages 4 - 7. The class will be offered on Wednesday evenings from 5:15-6:15 PM beginning Wednesday, June 17 through July 22.

Materials for this class are recommended. Materials include a song/story CD, 10X15 poster, game pieces, parent book, all packaged in a sturdy folder. If you have two or more children taking the class at the same time, you will only need to purchase one family pack and then a sibling pack for each additional child. Parents or caretakers will participate the last few minutes of each class.

Introduction to the Keyboard

(No previous keyboard or Musikgarten required)

This comprehensive musicianship class is designed to begin the process of building a solid foundation in music literacy. This means we're not just at the piano but also singing, moving, drumming, discovering musical patterns, playing other instruments, and playing the piano. This six weeks course is a great introduction for students brand new to Musikgarten and a wonderful preparation to the Keyboard 1 course offered each fall semester.

No previous keyboarding or Musikgarten experience is required to participate in this six week course. The class isoffered on Wednesday, June 17 through July 22 from 7:15-8:15 PM.

Group Accordion Class

(No previous keyboard or music instruction required)

Learn the joy of music through this six week introduction to the accordion. This class is geared for students age 7-12 with little or no prior musical training. Student size Instruments are available for use (deposit required) during the six weeks, and all other materials are included in the class tuition.

No previous keyboarding or musical training is required to participate in this six week course. The class is offered on Thursdays, June 18 - July 30 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. A special student showcase will be given at the close of the six-week class.

Student size Accordion - $170.00 Deposit Required*

* $153.00 of the deposit will be refunded at the end of the class if the instrument is returned in the original good condition. The deposit can also be applied toward an additional 3 month rental of the instrument for students who continue with private accordion lessons through Valley Music Academy. Instrument rental is provided through a third-party vendor and are not property of VMA.

Nimble & Quick - (CLASS FULL)

Music Makers Present: "Nimble & Quick". Jack be nimble. Jack be quick. Jack jump over the candlestick. Nursery Rhymes + Music = Fun for Children and Parents. This class is a Brand New Class, never before offered at VMA. Bring your little ones, from babies through age 3 and enjoy this exciting, fun-filled class with Miss Karen. Parents or caretakers will participate with each child during this class.

Classes will last for 6 weeks and will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:00 PM beginning June 17 through July 22, 2015.

Tuition is $75.00.
Materials (optional): $35.00 include Parent Book, CD and bean bag.
