Harnessing the Power of Your Physician Network Through Centralized Referral Management
Weak coordination of patient care transitions across providers and care settings drives up clinical and administrative costs, compromises quality, and results in lost revenue as patients forgo recommended care or exit a health system’s network out of frustration. Even when patients do stay within the network, poor referral management such as not securing timely authorizations, can result in denied claims.  As new reimbursement models become a larger percentage of a system’s revenue, referral coordination will be key to managing the increasing complexities of revenue collection.   During this session, we will dive into the consequences of weak referral management, the argument for centralization, and key factors needed to be successful.

10:00 – 10:55 – Christopher Hapak, Partner
The Law offices of Stephenson, Acquisto & Coleman

Managed Care Litigation Update
This break-out session will focus on the pressing issues facing hospitals in the arena of managed care litigation.  These issues include contract negotiation, verification of benefits / authorization for services, billing and appeals, and non-contracted ‘reasonable and customary’ reimbursement.  It will also address recent state and federal case law pertaining to healthcare provider / payor disputes.

“Slimming Down Your Receivables”

A review of Fortune 500 companies reveals the truth that receivable assets is one of the largest tangible assets on a company’s balance sheet.  In fact, receivables rank among the top three (3) tangible assets for 75% of the top 100 organizations.  Surprisingly, management of this multi-billion-dollar asset rarely receives much senior management attention, except when a serious problem develops.

During this course ‘Workout’, Jeff will coach participants through the key areas that will allow them to bring appropriate focus and methods to the areas plaguing their A/R…providing them with the tools to truly ‘Slim Down Their Receivables’. More on this presentation

Sequetor, Inc.

Examination of the Premise
This session examines the premise of current healthcare reimbursement and introduces an innovative approach plan, employing the concept of equitable relief in reimbursement.

Current beliefs are constrained by payer and/or government reimbursement limitations, regardless of the actual wholesale cost to provide the necessary, authorized care.  A new paradigm is emerging which advances the reimbursement model to provide additional reimbursement in the form of equitable relief from ‘loss leader’ reimbursement.
