The Contemplative Hatha Yoga Teacher Training is a 265-hour program taught one session a week and one weekend each month for ten months. 250 hours are 'contact with a PYAM teacher', the rest are class visitations.

Our program goes above and beyond most basic trainings of 200 hours; it offers an additional 65 hours built in to help you hone your yoga teaching skills and develop a deep personal practice while addressing the full curriculum below.

The purpose of the Contemplative Yoga Teacher Training is to introduce the foundations for teaching yoga and developing a yogasana class. Our program has deep roots in the Kripalu tradition and classical yogasana techniques offering an inclusive experience of the spiritual foundations within a traditional yoga practice.

  • basic techniques of asana, pranayama, meditation and chanting; including alignment, benefits, adaptations
  • teaching the methodology tools of demonstrations, language, body reading, sequencing and assisting

  • western anatomy by reviewing of the western systems of the body and integrating a yoga focus
  • eastern anatomy through exploring Ayurveda, cakra, pranavayu, kosha and subtle anatomy
