This is an introductory course that creates a sound jumping board into further Ayurveda studies (prerequisite course for the Counselor training). Also - the course will deepen one's experience of ayurveda for all yoga practitioners or other Wellness professionals interested in Ayurveda as a complementary practice.
See specific schedule in sidebar.
Ayurveda, a sister science of yoga, is the science of life. It is an ancient, and still relevant, science of wellbeing. Wellbeing in the Ayurveda and yoga context includes wholeness of the physical, mental, emotional, social, and Spiritual aspects of one’s life.
Ayurveda is a science, tested by time. It is steeped in a solid philosophy that includes the interplay of the body, mind and Spirit. The Foundations of Ayurveda course introduces basic Ayurveda philosophy, anatomy, and physiology. In the study, students will learn to delineate the concept of the essence of Spirit moving to a material manifestation; signs of the manifestation of the body being “out of balance”; assessment techniques; and the tools of Ayurveda.
The Foundations of Ayurveda course is an introduction to Ayurvedic philosophy and provides a means for understanding the concepts of Ayurveda. It prepares the student for deeper studies and is a prerequisite for future Ayurveda courses and also as an enhancement to Yoga teaching or lifestyle awareness.
The available opportunities to further your professional pursuits of Ayurveda include:
Ayurveda Health Counselor
