Winter Jewels & Winter Thrillers Hellebore Pre-Order 

The Winter Jewels and Winter Thrillers hellebores are the best available in North America. They come in double and single strains with bold, rich colours, large, symmetrical flowers and great vigour. These strains also improve every year due to the diligent breeding of Hellebore Queen Marietta O’Byrne and up and comer Chris Hansen. Because they are seed strains every plant is unique and collectible. The exact colour of each plant will be close to the pictures but not always exact, though always beautiful. 

These Lenten roses bloom from February through April. No garden is complete without hellebores and these special series are sure to add precious colour to your late winter and early spring garden. This year we are offering both STARTER and BLOOMING-SIZE plants via pre-order so you can lock in the exact plants you want. Your plants are pulled by Gary in advance of the Hellebore Hurrah!. He will choose the biggest, best and most beautiful forms available. If you purchase a collection you can also save 10-15%. 

STARTER plants are strong and healthy adolescents in 4.5” pots that are mostly one year from blooming though at this size about 10-15% could bloom this year. The rest should start next year and perhaps a few the year after. 

BLOOMING-SIZE plants are 1-2 years older than starter plants, come in 6”/15cm pots, and should all be in full bloom this season*. 

Plants will be available for pick-up at the Hellebore Hurrah! February 24th-26th, 2017 or any day after that weekend. Note that some strains are only available in one size and not the other.

*Hellebores can take years to reach blooming size and they are not always easy to grow in nursery pots (though they are easy to grow in the garden). Sometimes not all plants will bloom even though they are at blooming size. We expect most of the “blooming size” plants to be in bloom but it could be that some cultivars or some individuals might not bloom this year.

Canadian Mail Order Customers: If you would like to lock in an order for these special orders in case they sell out before they make it onto our mail order site in spring, please place your order here. When we email you in the spring that it is time to pick up, please email us back to tell us you would like your plants shipped. We will ship to you in March or April as soon as the weather in your area can receive your hellebores. Please order a minimum of $40 total in hellebores from our different pre-sales in order for us to ship. Regular shipping rates will apply at the time of shipping. These are the Canada Post rates plus an amount to cover our time and materials.
