Winter Jewels Helleborus Pre-Sale 

The Winter Jewels Hellebores are the best available in North America. They come in double and single forms with bold, rich colours, large, symmetrical flowers and great vigour. They bloom from February through April. No garden is complete without hellebores and this special series is sure to add precious colour to your late winter and early spring garden. As part of the special pre-sale we are offering three different collections: the Ultimate Collection includes all 15 of the hellebore strains we have available, the Single Collection includes all 8 single hellebore strains, and the Double Collection includes all 7 double hellebore strains. The plants are strong starter plants in 4.5" pots that are either at or just before their first "adolescent" flowering. Most will bloom for the first time in 2016 but some may bloom in 2015. After that you'll have decades of colour that increases every year. Plants will be available for pick-up at the Hellebore Hurrah! February 27th-March 1st, 2014 or any day after that weekend.

Amethyst Glow -- Amethyst Glow has warm purple flowers edged with an amethyst picotee which lights up the edges of the flowers when the spring sun shines through. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.  

Apricot Blush -- This Winter Jewels single strain offers fantastic shades of apricot, light pink, dark pink, and yellow often all in the same flower and sometimes adorned with burgundy-red spots or central stars. Black Diamond -- Once you’ve had black... This deep, dark, delectable strain from Marietta O’Byrne’s Winter Jewels offers single flowers in warm, deep purples, cool, purple-slates, rich purple-burgundies and, sometimes if you’re very lucky a rich royal purple with a light red-purple picotee edge. Oh my! As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Cherry Blossom -- Pale pink tepals picoteed with darker pink and, if you’re lucky, a ruffled, anemone centre (some will be single or double). This strain has been bred by Marietta O'Byrne for this semi-double central ruff which is even rarer than a double hellebore. Count yourself lucky when you do get an anemone centre but if you are dreaming about finding one this strain will give you the best shot! The backs of the tepals are usually beautifully detailed as well. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Jade Star -- From Marietta O’Byrne’s Winter Jewels comes a strain for hellebore enthusiasts who already have everything - you’ve got the whites, the pinks, the near blacks, the singles, the doubles - now you need Jade Star. This utterly intriguing strain offers every possible variation of green flower with red veins and a red picotee edge. The backs of the tepals are usually beautifully detailed. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Painted -- Marietta O’Byrne’s Painted Strain has white or cream tepals heavily spotted with red or purple. This is a great strain for gardeners who love deep, bold colour but who don’t want to lose that colour against the dark, bare spring soil - the tepals come with a nice white or cream to show off the bold colours. Ruby Wine -- Marietta O’Byrne’s Winter Jewels Ruby Wine offers perfectly formed single flowers in rich shades of red and luscious burgundy. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

White Pearl -- The pure white single flowers sparkle in the spring garden. Some plants may have a red central flare or light red speckling. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Berry Swirl -- The Winter Jewels Berry Swirl Strain offers delicious warm purples and purple red double flowers with a creamy-white central kiss. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Cotton Candy -- These delicate double flowers are shaded with soft light pinks like a little girl's dress. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Golden Lotus -- A golden glow emanates from these charming lotus-like flowers. Double yellows are amongst the rarest of hellebores. Some plants may also sport a flush or picotee of apricot pink. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Jade Tiger -- Jade Tiger is for the sophisticated gardener looking for something subtle yet enchanting. The strain offers double flowers in green with varying degrees of purple markings, streaks and picotees. Slower growing than the other strains. Onyx Odyssey -- Once you’ve had black you’ll never go back. This seductive strain offers double slate, purple and black flowers whose colour will remain for months, even into summer. Plant Onyx Odyssey with lighter coloured hellebores to help show off the dark tepals. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Red Sapphire --This luscious strain has rich, velvety, rose-red, double flowers. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant.

Rose Quartz -- These large, double, pink picotees are luscious! The flowers are a fluffy, light pink to white and streaked and picoteed with darker pink.
