Social Media & Cellphones 

FOR STUDENTS IN 6TH-8TH GRADE

Middle school is a time when kids are getting cellphones and jumping onto social media. In this workshop, we'll have a guided discussion about the positive and negative aspects of social media. They'll discover the importance of balancing screentime & realtime. And they'll learn important boundaries when interacting with people online.

Specifically, your child will learn about:

  • Personal information boundaries
  • Positive effects of social media
  • Negative effects of social media
  • Balancing online life versus real life
  • Cyberbullying
  • Posting kindlly
  • Reporting to parents or other adults

Sheri Gazitt synthesizes information from her background in Neuropsychological research, therapy, educational testing, and teen life coaching. This combination allows her to guide parents, students, and staff regarding daily life issues. Sheri has worked with Boys & Girls Clubs, City of Redmond, Seattle Storm, Seattle University, Microsoft and many other organizations. Radio shows and parent magazines reach out to Sheri for advice on pressing teen issues. Sheri is also a private teen life coach for girls who are dealing with stress, perfectionism, and friendship issues.
