A Childs's Right to Grieve

This is a 2.0 hour session.

A lecture presentation from Mia Mendoza, Program Director at the Children’s Grief Center + Grief Resource Center of New Mexico, on the inherent, human right of children to express grief and loss. We will discuss how this has been historically silenced in young people, and the long-term implications of denying children this right. The presentation will share the unique emotional needs of bereaved children, how this differs from those of adults, and how practitioners and caregivers can facilitate validation and healing in young people.
