Risk Assessment & Certificate of Evaluation, Presented by Mental Health First Responders

This is a 2.0 hour session.

We will review the work of Mental Health First Responders and the Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) Initiative in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. We will share the hard won insights of our work with local law enforcement. MCT Clinicians are truly working at the intersection of criminal justice and social justice. We will discuss what it’s like to work with police amid a nationwide call to defund the police. We will review how we assess risk, the quality of information we are seeking, care options once a level of risk is determined, and some strategies used during evaluation. New and seasoned social workers will benefit from the content and case studies presented. New ideas, tools and handouts will be shared. We hope you take the insights, strategies and tools back to your community and agency, in support of greater human rights and safety for all.
