We work hard and there is always something to do right? This leaves self-care at the bottom of your "if I have time for it" list and often leads to burn out. This retreat will provide an opportunity for you to rest and renew and will include talks and interactive activities that stimulate your senses, calm your mind, and provide you with time to meet others who share your passion for this work.

Together we will learn about the healing power of reiki, how essential oils help with self-care, and how to maintain energetic good health and happiness. We will also get creative, and do some brief yoga that is suitable for everyone. You will be able to apply these principles to you AND the clients you serve.

Healthy fresh lunch will complement the day and provide you with some new tools to elevate your practice. Join us for this lovely day on taking care of you and earn 5.5 CEU's while you're at it!

Aromatherapy for Self-care
Presented by: Angela Melton

Caring professionals who are deeply devoted to their clients often put their own needs last, and they can forget to extend the same level of care and compassion to themselves that they provide to others. Join us and experience first-hand the ease and effectiveness of alternative and complementary approaches to mental and emotional self-care. We’ll explore the power of aromatherapy to support and enhance our self-care.

How to Achieve & Maintain Spiritural & Energetic Good Health and Happiness:
Presented by: Rhonda Harris-Choudhry

Social Workers may often find themselves physically drained and emotionally exhausted by the demands of their jobs. But the damages being done are not limited to physical and mental systems. Low energy, depression and anxiety also hamper the energetic system located in the body. This can be even more difficult for those who are empaths and highly sensitive people. This presentation will show you how to:

  • Understand the chakra and aura systems and how to scan and repair them.
  • How to energetically remove anxiety and depression.
  • How to effectively remove the harmful emotional energies of others from your own energetic system.
  • How to maintain inner peace.
  • How to shield yourself from the toxic energies of others to maintain better health and happiness.

Art Therapy and Facilitating Success
Presented by: Carol Hinote LCSW, ATR

Participants will have an opportunity to engage in two simple and enjoyable art activities that can be used with clients from ages three to eighty.  They can be used as ice breakers, get-to-know-you exercises, or when a break in dealing with more challenging issues is indicated. They can be used with individuals, couples, families or groups. Clients appreciate experiencing success at something they haven’t done before. They can make choices and take chances at times when they feel there are no choices in their lives and they are too fearful to take chances. Only a few simple materials are needed: copy paper, pencils, markers, and pens. Carol will talk about the benefits of using visual expression and visual language in treatment and share some samples of her own art work. She will also provide an information handout suggesting “dos” and “don’ts” to foster visual expression exercises with clients.
