Basic/Refresher Erosion & Sediment Control Technical Training

This training was funded through a grant from the PA Department of Environmental Protection, and made possible through the cooperation of the PA Association of Conservation Districts and Pennsylvania’s conservation districts.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This training is designed for conservation district technicians who:

  • are new or relatively new to their position;
  • have never taken a similar training;
  • would like a refresher;
  • or would like guidance and skill enhancement for field inspections.

COURSE CONTENT
This intensive four day training is intended for conservation district staff and PA DEP employees and will take participants through the fundamentals of plan reviews and proper inspections using rigorous class instruction. Participants may attend any or all days, but attendance at all four days is recommended, particularly for new technicians.

REGISTRATION FEES
Participant registration fees are waived. Funding is provided through a grant from the PA Department of Environmental Protection.

LODGING AND MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT
Lodging and travel reimbursement forms will be provided and must be submitted by each district for reimbursement. See details below.

Rate: $65.40 (includes tax) for single or double occupancy. You must ask for the "PACD Room Block" when making your reservation. Be sure to make your reservation before the room block expires on March 9, 2015.

PACD will reimburse conservation districts at the above rate for up to four nights of lodging for each participant.

Mileage Reimbursement
PACD will reimburse conservation districts for travel to and from the training at the state mileage reimbursement rate up to $300.00 per district. 

MEALS
A morning break, lunch and an afternoon break will be provided. Dinner and breakfast will not be provided. However, a complimentary continental breakfast is available at the Best Western, which includes choice of breads, cereal, fruit, eggs, yogurt, juice and hot items.
