Symbols of Wellness
8th annual Winter Blues!
Our schools refer to a 'growth mindset', the grit or resilience to view failure like a misplaced puzzle piece. The Winter Blues event celebrates practical coping skills that are used by kids to manage stress without it growing into anxiety or depression. It is a fun evening where you will hear the latest findings and meet remarkable people leading the field. Event speakers are:
- Dr. David DeMaso, Psychiatrist-in-Chief, Boston Childen's Hospital, addressing awareness and prevention of anxiety and depression
- Rotary Interact teen mentors from Wellesley, Weston, Dover and Natick, who co-faciliate content at the Wellesley high school and with youth groups at middle schools, congregations and clubs like Scouts, YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, etc.
- Nadja Reilly, Ph.D., will provide an update on the Rotary International Wellness Project. She is the consulting psychologist for the wellness project and Associate Director of the Freedman Center for Child and Family Development, Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, William James College.
