Music @ NCL: Music of the 1930’s and WWII

Professor of Music, composer and bassist Brian Q. Torff will explore the development of jazz during the Harlem Renaissance, Prohibition, gangsters and speakeasies, radio and race records, the artistic achievements of Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Billie Holiday and the impact of swing on American life in the 1930’s.
