Our March 14th Presentation: The number of patients who will suffer from a fragility fracture is rising around the world. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men will experience a fragility fracture during their lifetimes, and people are living longer. Fragility fractures of the hip often lead to permanent disability or even death, due to immobility. Current diagnostic tools (imaging) are poor at identifying individuals at risk prior to a fragility fracture, and innovation is needed to address the growing crisis.
Our Speaker: Alexander Proctor received a B.S. in Physics from UCSB in 2007, the same year he and Dr. Paul Hansma founded Active Life Scientific. He also participated in the UCSB Technology Management Program’s New Venture competition, in which Active Life won 2 awards. He has led in various roles in the company ranging from research and development to regulatory approvals to sales and fundraising.
Meal Choices: All meals are the same price. Please choose one when you reserve, to provide a count for the restaurant. Pay when you reserve, or walk-in and pay at the door.
Drinks: Diet soda, iced tea, lemonade and water are available.
