02-10-16 Iterate Faster With a 3D Printer

Our February Presentation: 3D printers have become very affordable, making it possible to prototype parts much more quickly than with CNC machining. Our speaker will show what's now possible with inexpensive consumer machines, the limits of such machines, and what's available beyond the consumer machines -- including printing with light-sensitive resin, laser-sintered nylon, laser-sintered metal, glued powder, additive laser welding, and more.

Our Speaker:

Nick Winters builds 3D printers and modifies 3D printers to do things other than 3D printing - such as the ZAR plotter drawing machine. He also works on web, desktop, and mobile custom business software as well as assisting members with their projects at the Santa Barbara Hackerspace.

Meal Choices: All meals are the same price. Please choose one when you register, to provide a count for the restaurant. Pay when you register or at the door.
